swat trails

In the summer of 2025, Adeel and his college friends—now spread across different cities and careers—decided it was time for a reunion. After weeks of planning and juggling schedules, they agreed to revisit a destination close to their hearts: Swat Valley. Often referred to as the “Switzerland of Pakistan,” Swat had evolved in recent years, yet its natural beauty remained just as mesmerizing.

This wasn’t just a tour; it was a journey of friendships, memories, and rediscovery.

From Islamabad to Mingora – A Scenic Drive

Their journey began early in the morning from Islamabad, packed into two cars with backpacks, snacks, and a playlist filled with nostalgic songs. As they drove along the Swat Expressway, the green mountains and winding roads brought back memories of their first visit during college days.

Upon reaching Mingora by late afternoon, they checked into a riverside hotel. The air was cool, the sound of the Swat River soothing, and the excitement in the group was palpable.

Discovering Fizagat & Malam Jabba

On day two, they visited Fizagat Park for a relaxed picnic by the river. The spot was clean, less crowded than before, and surrounded by lush green hills. From there, they set out toward Malam Jabba—the adventure hub of Swat.

In Malam Jabba, they found themselves ziplining over forested slopes and trying out the chairlift that offered panoramic views of the snow-dusted peaks. The real thrill, however, came from the hiking trail behind the resort, which led to a hidden viewpoint where they watched the sunset over the valley.

Day in Kalam and Mahodand Lake

The highlight of their Swat tour came when they ventured into upper Swat and made their way to Kalam and Mahodand Lake. The 4×4 jeep ride to Mahodand was bumpy but scenic, with the road flanked by alpine trees, waterfalls, and grazing sheep.

When they reached the lake, everyone fell silent. The crystal-clear water, framed by towering mountains and dotted with wooden boats, was breathtaking. They spent hours there—boating, eating freshly grilled trout, and taking in the untouched beauty of nature.

Camping Under the Stars

That night, instead of returning to their hotel, the group decided to camp near Kalam. With tents set up, a bonfire roaring, and stars lighting up the sky, they laughed over old stories, sang songs, and shared dreams for the future.

It was in that moment, beneath the open sky, that they realized the value of real friendship—and how nature has the power to bring people closer in ways city life never could.

Final Day: Shopping and Goodbyes

Before heading back, they stopped by the Mingora bazaar for some shopping. From handcrafted shawls to wooden souvenirs and local dry fruits, everyone picked up something to take home. The goodbyes were emotional but filled with promises of more such Pakistan Tours in the future.
