Update: No more Show-Money is required at Dubai Airport.
Dubai has recently made significant changes to its visa and entry policies for Pakistani travelers. One notable update is that visitors arriving at Dubai Airport no longer need to show proof of funds, simplifying the arrival process. However, the visa approval process has become stricter for individual travelers under 40 years of age. Dubai is currently rejecting visas for solo Pakistani travelers in this age group, regardless of their city of origin. The only exceptions are family visas, which are still being issued even for applicants from cities listed as restricted on Dubai’s visa list.
Here is the list of required documents for Pakistani citizens applying for a Dubai visa under the new policy:
- Confirmed Return Air Ticket
- Confirmed Hotel Reservation
- Color Scan Copy of Original Passport’s First Page (showing personal details)
- Color Scan Copy of Passport’s Second Page (with the passport holder’s signatures)
- Color Scan Copy of Smart (Chip-Based) National Identity Card (NIC)
- Bank Statement for the Last 6 Months (to demonstrate financial stability)
- Police Character Certificate (to confirm a clean criminal record)
These documents are essential for the visa application process, particularly for families, to ensure smooth approval.
According to the new Dubai visa policy for Pakistani citizens, several important documents are required to ensure smooth visa approval, especially for family visas. Firstly, applicants must provide a confirmed return air ticket, which guarantees that they have planned their departure from Dubai after completing their stay. Additionally, a confirmed hotel reservation is required to verify accommodation arrangements in Dubai, ensuring that travelers have a place to stay throughout their visit.
Along with travel and accommodation details, applicants must submit a color scan copy of the original passport’s first page, which contains the passport holder’s personal details. A color scan copy of the passport’s second page (which includes the holder’s signatures) is also necessary. This helps verify the passport’s authenticity and ensures that all information is accurate.
For identification purposes, applicants need to provide a color scan copy of their Smart (chip-based) National Identity Card (NIC), which contains essential details about the individual. Moreover, other supporting documents include a bank statement for the last 6 months to demonstrate financial stability, a Police Character Certificate to confirm good conduct, and confirmed flight tickets to ensure a solid travel plan. These strict requirements aim to ensure that applicants, particularly families, have legitimate travel intentions and sufficient resources for their stay in Dubai. With these documents, families are more likely to be granted a Dubai visa, as the authorities focus on verifying the authenticity and credibility of travelers.
There had been a recent change in Dubai Visit Visa Rules 2025 For Pakistani Citizens. Civil Aviation Authority under the pressure by Financial Action Task Force (FATF) has issued new rules for Pakistanis Visiting UAE. This is done in order to meet the requirements by Pakistani Government and potentially exiting the FATF Grey List.
All of this change happened after receiving a query from a passenger at Dubai airport, the Consulate Staff visited the airport and found out that the UAE Immigration Authorities have stopped entry to around 80 Pakistani nationals at Dubai airport for multiple reasons.
A total 40 of them have been deported to Pakistan and rest are being sent back on various available fights. Immigration authorities have cited following reasons for their deportation:
- These passengers were holding visit visas had dummy return tickets
- The passengers were unable to show enough money to sustain in UAE Most of them have reportedly informed the UAE immigration authorities that they came to UAE for employment purposes, however, they were holding visit visas.
This Mission has requested UAE Immigration authorities to allow entry to Pakistani passport holders holding valid visas into UAE, however they have conveyed that entry of these passengers were denied because of above reasons (According to official Sources).
Ministry is requested to approach MOI/FIA for the following;
a) To educate Pakistani passengers desirous of working in UAE to acquire proper work visa
b) All of them should be holding valid return tickets
